Language service

Clear communication across languages requires more than linguistic accuracy. Meaning, tone and intention also need to carry across languages and cultures, whether in documents, meetings or public communication.

Translation

We translate official documents, contracts, certificates, reports and other texts where accuracy and nuance matter and even a minor misunderstanding could have serious consequences. Our approach is to preserve both the content and the practical meaning of the original, including what the text states, requires or implies and how it is likely to be understood by the intended reader.

Interpretation

Interpreting is available for social services, business, workplace, healthcare and legal situations, both online and on site. Each assignment is handled accurately and discreetly, with careful attention to tone, cultural context and the circumstances of the interaction, whether it is a negotiation, project meeting, medical appointment or interview with a public authority. The aim is to convey the speaker’s message clearly and accurately, including the intent and nuances that may not be captured by a strictly literal interpretation.

Transcreation

Transcreation is used for marketing copy, webpages, pitches, presentations and product or service descriptions. Rather than translating the text word for word, the message is adapted to the target language and culture so that it sounds natural, persuasive and locally relevant. The key ideas remain the same, but the wording, tone and emphasis may change to achieve the intended effect.

This is also where the limits of machine translation and large language models become particularly visible. Automated tools can produce text within seconds, but they may miss context, subtle implications and differences in tone, especially when the message needs to persuade or engage a particular audience. Human language expertise helps ensure that the final text is not only correct, but also natural, convincing and appropriate for its purpose.

Language Teaching

Individual lessons in Finnish, Russian and English are tailored to the learner’s level, goals and everyday needs. Teaching may support integration, work, studies, or greater confidence in practical communication, with a focus on language that can be used in real-life situations.

Despite rapid advances in communication technology and the widespread use of English as a lingua franca, knowledge of foreign languages remains important for many reasons, from handling everyday matters in the country where you live to passing language examinations or studying in another language.

Many people begin learning a foreign language as adults, which makes an individual approach and regular practice especially important. For steady progress, lessons can be scheduled twice a week for one hour or two academic hours. More intensive preparation usually requires at least three sessions per week.
